A Fun Way to Learn - Infographic (Cyberbullying)
Hello, my dear reader!
Nice to see you here again! π
Today's topic is an interesting one, I guess. Have you ever heard about infographics? Infographics are visual representations of data or information. Today, I designed an infographic for the first time in my life. I was supposed to create an infographic for my Instructional Technologies and Material Design course. I had several options to choose for the topic: Plagiarism, copyright and fair use, safety and privacy, netiquette, or cyberbullying. I picked cyberbullying because I thought that it is something that we all are familiar with and maybe even experienced.
While I was designing the infographic, it was a bumpy ride to choose a template because there were so many options π¬. Other than that, I enjoyed the process. Choosing colorful icons related to the topic and writing information in the text boxes were fun. I used Canva to create my infographic. Canva made it so much easier to design and understand how it works.
In English classrooms, infographics might be very useful to convey important points of a topic. I think giving information through an infographic would be more effective than giving it bare. Since infographics provide visuals and vivid colors while reading the texts, the information given might stick in the minds of students better. Also, making students create an infographic would lead them to research the given topic eagerly. That way, they can learn new information and have fun at the same time.
These were my experiences and thoughts on today's topic. Don't forget to share your own experience in creating an infographic! π
Here is the infographic that I prepared:
