Interview with Mehmed the Conquerer!!

 Hello, my dear reader!

I hope you're doing great! ๐Ÿ’—

Today, I will tell you about my experiences in using AI tools and what I think about them. I was supposed to chat with a historical figure, author, or story character by using an AI tool named Magic School, then prepare a report on the conversation, and lastly, get feedback from AI on the report and revise it for my Instructional Technologies and Material Design course. We worked as a pair with my dear friend, YaฤŸmur Kavak, for this assignment. You can check her blog by clicking here. We wanted to chat with Mehmed the Conquerer because we were curious about the conquest of Constantinople. In this assignment, the key point was the AI tool we got help from.

The AI tool we used, Magic School, is a multifaceted tool that offers many functions. I think it has a complicated homepage, and it is hard to find the tool that you are looking for. But it is very easy to use the tool once you find it. I think the character tool that we used for our assignment is entertaining and interesting. I mean, we chatted with Fatih Sultan Mehmet... It is crazy! Also, Magic School contains many other tools within itself. Though sometimes the answers generated by the tool were a little bit meaningless and irrelevant, in general, the tool was successful and helpful.

As a teacher candidate, I think AI tools are very helpful for innovative and efficient teaching practices. These tools are timesavers and effort-free. AI tools can generate creative activities that sometimes we cannot think of. They offer a vast variety of options on the instructions we give them so we can eventually get the exact thing we want. However, AI tools are not the best things to rely completely on. They might also come up with wrong information and irrelevant solutions. Therefore, we should be careful while using AI tools and we should always revise the information given by them.

AI tools might be very appealing to students. The way these tools make every task easier and quicker than ever might make them students' beloved best friends on tasks. However, making AI tools to do their own tasks might result in a decrease in the performance of students. What is more, it might not always provide a better outcome, as students think. So regardless of our position, teacher or student, we should be cautious while using AI tools.

These were my experiences and notions on AI tools. I am curious about your thoughts so don't be shy about leaving a comment! ๐Ÿ‘ป
